Tracey has more than 25 years of experience in the investment industry. Her career began at Investors Group in 1991, where she spent 15 years establishing her practice. In 2008, she teamed up with Patrick Tenpenny to form The McGrath Tenpenny Wealth Management Group.
Early in 2013, Tracey and Patrick joined Macquarie Private Wealth—predecessor to Richardson GMP—to further expand their investment and financial planning services and to enjoy the freedom to run their advisory practice in a way that benefits the families that have entrusted their financial well-being to them for years.
Acting as our clients’ chief financial advisor, Tracey discovers each family’s life and financial goals, then creates a customized and comprehensive plan for their unique situation. Tracey focuses on big-picture financial and estate planning and works closely with Patrick around portfolio construction. Tracey is has her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Tracey’s primary role is steering the Financial Planning process which begins with the initial Discovery Meeting and ends with our clients knowing exactly what they need to do in order to meet the retirement goals they have set for themselves. The customized Plan is an active 12 to 20 page document that acts as the road map to financial independence. The Plan is revisited often to ensure our clients are on track and meeting their savings targets. We push our clients to aggressively save, as we know down the road, they will benefit from adhering to a disciplined investment approach.
Tracey is very active in her community and takes pride in her volunteer work. She is the vice chair of the charity Bracelet of Hope in support of the fight against HIV and Aids in Africa and is an active volunteer at her children’s school. In addition, Tracey is a member of the Guelph Rotary club. She currently lives in Guelph with her two boys, Curtis and Carter.
She enjoys her busy charity work, traveling and her boys’ competitive lacrosse teams.
